Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has been ruled out of Saturday’s RAC Derby at Optus Stadium.

General manager football Peter Bell said Fyfe was still suffering the effects of a heavy clash with St Kilda’s Josh Battle in the third quarter of last Sunday's game at the stadium. Fyfe took no further that part in the match after he was ruled out with concussion.

“Nat is still experiencing symptoms linked to the concussion and will not be available to play in the derby,” Bell said.

“Based on the medical advice and Nat’s own account of how he he's feeling, it is the correct and only decision.

“Nat is disappointed about missing any game, particular a derby.

“But, as is the case with all of our playing group, the player’s health and wellbeing is always paramount in the decision-making process.”
