Fremantle Oval came alive Friday afternoon as hundreds of Freo fans attended the annual Fremantle Dockers Junior Christmas Party.

The event featured both the new AFL recruits and the club’s AFLW team, who were on hand to join in football activities and sign autographs, as well as be presented with their 2017 jumper numbers.

Junior members Grace and Jonty Peterson were invited to present the players with their jumper numbers.

Before heading onto stage Grace was feeling very excited.

“It is very special to be invited here today, I am feeling very nervous but also excited,” Grace said.

Michael Walters pointed out how much the players enjoyed giving back to their younger fans.

“Today has been so much fun, it is great to have all the kids around,” Walters said.

“It’s not that much effort when you see how happy it makes them.”

Entry for the event was a small Christmas gift for Perth’s underprivileged children.

The support from members was overwhelming with more than 10 boxes of presents collected.

All the gifts will be dispensed by Fremantle’s community event partner, 12 Buckets

The event also included inflatable goals and marking stations, face painting, a giant slide and also a special appearance from Santa.

HBF manned the hydration station, providing members with water and fruit during the afternoon.

Community Impact Partner Beyond Bank distributed Christmas crowns and reindeer antlers at the Beyond Bank tent.

Plus both juniors and adults enjoyed a variety of free McDonald’s giveaways.

Merry Christmas from the Fremantle Dockers!
