Lachie Neale wants to remain at Fremantle as long as he can.

In his fourth season, Neale has become a premier midfielder at the club, averaging nearly 30 disposals a game.

His breakout season even prompted former Fremantle star Paul Haselby to suggest Neale would be potentially valuable trade bait.

The South Australian product was quick to dispel any notion of him leaving his beloved home.

“It was a bit of a laugh with Hays,” Neale said.

“The truth is I love this club and what it has done for me and as a person.

“I’ve been here for four years and got picked up pretty late in the 2011 draft.

“Every other team overlooked me but Fremantle gave me a chance.”

Neale said he hoped he was beginning to repay the faith the club had put in him when he was taken at pick 58 in the 2011 draft.

He is contracted until the end of next season.

“I love the club, the people and the coaches,” he said.

“They’ve got the best out of me on and off the field.

“I’ve got so much improvement and growth left in me.

“I can see that, hopefully I can bring that out.

“For the remainder of the year I just want to play consistent footy.”
